Introduction
Aim of the study.
The overall aim of this essay is to apply the ferment of reflexion to a critical mishap I experienced on my clinical placement. There are many models and frameworks for reflection such as Schonn (1983), Kolb (1984), Goodman (1984), Egan (1986), Gibbs (1988), Driscoll (1994), Johns (2000), etc. For the purpose of this essay I arouse chosen to apply the Reflective Cycle initial proposed by Gibbs (1988) a copy of which is in the appendices.
This essay will examine a critical incident and describe, analyse and evaluate the experience before making recommendations for changes to future personal practice.

The incident chosen to reflect upon in this essay concerns an occasion when, through an absence of dignity and respect in the tending delivered by a junior colleague, a patients care experience was compromised. This is an issue I hold strong views on so I chose to reflect upon this incident in order to examine my own beliefs and actions and thus inform my practice.
