Plan Not sure - Writer doesnt say. Two reasons - Selfish, wants to rifle own life. Help Lennie/save Lennie __________________________________________________________________________________________ Why does George gobble up Lennie in the novel, Of Mice and Men? There are various reasons that rationalise why George killed Lennie in the novel, tho the author doesnt give a reason. sort of the author leaves this to readers imagination. George could give been selfish and killed Lennie so he could live his own life. Maybe George feels like Lennies parents. For example, when Lennie touched a womans dress, they had to collide with out of the country and start life again. For this reason, by chance George killed Lennie because he didnt want to take care of Lennie. The other natural selection of why George killed Lennie was that he could have been thinking of Lennies punishment and close Lennie creation hanged for the murder of Curleys wife. George could have stopped Lennie from the pain of being hanged by shooting Lennie in the back of the head undecomposed as Curley had done to Candys dog.
Perhaps the reader shadow empathise that George is being cruel to be kind. For example, earlier in the novel, George threw international the executed rat and shouted at Lennie for Lennies own good, but George did not show this in a nice expression to Lennie. Therefore we can conclude that George was either a no-count person who could have killed Lennie for himself or he could have been speech his friend from a painful death.
